Hudson is a growing and vibrant community on the western edge of Middlesex County, Massachusetts, a short drive to Boston or Worcester. The town is home to over 19,000 residents with an historic downtown dating back to the 1800s.
Downtown Hudson begins at a traffic circle (where Routes 62 and 85 converge) with brick-lined sidewalks bordered by attractive, brick-faced buildings and a wide, lake-like section of the Assabet River. Main Street and South Street follow the mighty Assabet eastward, featuring walking/biking trails, parks, popular restaurants, shops, businesses, a brewery, and other attractions.
An active Historic Commission helps retain the 1800s persona, with an attractive town hall, library, fire house, and commercial properties that match the theme. Though thankful for its rich past, Hudson lives now and looks to the future with excellent, modern schools (well-managed by the Hudson School District), town water and sewage, a reliable power utility (Hudson Light and Power), recreational areas (17 different parks and two athletic complexes), and a reasonable tax base that attracts both families and businesses.
